VoiceClutch Privacy Policy
VoiceClutch is designed to be privacy-first. This policy explains what data the app processes, where processing happens, and what controls you have.
VoiceClutch does not require account creation and does not operate a backend service for dictation content.
1. Data Processing Overview
- Speech recognition and transcript cleanup run locally on your device.
- VoiceClutch does not send your microphone audio or transcript content to VoiceClutch servers.
- VoiceClutch does not run analytics or usage telemetry.
2. Permissions Used
- Microphone: required to capture audio for dictation.
- Accessibility: required to insert dictated text into other apps.
You can revoke permissions at any time in macOS System Settings.
3. Network Access
VoiceClutch may access the network to download on-device model files needed for local inference (for example, from model hosting providers such as Hugging Face). These downloads use standard secure transport provided by Apple platforms. To deliver these files, hosting providers may process technical request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and request timestamps under their own privacy policies.
4. Data Stored Locally
VoiceClutch stores data locally on your Mac, such as:
- App settings and preferences
- Downloaded model files used for local inference
- Optional local vocabulary/customization data
Typical storage location includes ~/Library/Application Support/voiceclutch.
5. Data Sharing
VoiceClutch does not sell personal data and does not share dictation content with third parties for advertising. VoiceClutch may transfer technical request metadata to model hosting providers only as needed to download model files. VoiceClutch does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
6. Your Privacy Choices
This section explains controls available to you for privacy and local data in VoiceClutch.
- Turn off Microphone and Accessibility permissions in macOS System Settings at any time.
- Delete local app data, including downloaded models, from
~/Library/Application Support/voiceclutch. - Uninstall the app to stop all processing.
- Manage optional behavior such as microphone chimes and local vocabulary features in app settings.
Since VoiceClutch has no account system, there is no in-app account deletion flow. Removing local app data and uninstalling the app are the primary deletion controls.
7. Children
VoiceClutch is not specifically directed to children under 13.
8. Data Retention
VoiceClutch stores app data locally on your device until you remove it or uninstall the app. VoiceClutch does not retain dictation content on VoiceClutch-operated servers.
Third-party model hosting providers may retain download request logs according to their own policies and legal obligations.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this policy when app behavior changes. Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
